To find the depth of the track-forming layer in our cloud chamber, we look at the equations governing atmospheric physics. These are the Bethe-Bloch formula which calculates the mean rate of ionization loss of a charged particle; Stokes Law which calculates how fast droplets fall, and the Clausius-Claperyon Equation.
